This visa includes mainly three streams.

Direct Entry Stream: For skilled workers with minimal or no Australian work experience.
Labour Agreement Stream: This is for workers employed under a labor agreement between the employer and the Australian government.
Temporary Residence Transition Stream: This stream is for Subclass 457 or TSS visa holders who have worked for the same employer for at least three years.

About Direct Entry Stream

To be eligible, you need to have a job on the skilled occupations list, at least three years of relevant work experience (unless you’re exempt), and a positive skills assessment (unless exempt).

This visa allows you to stay in Australia indefinitely. Permanent residency starts the day your visa is granted. For citizenship purposes, it begins either on the visa grant date or when you arrive in Australia, depending on where you are.

The visa costs AUD 4,770 for the principal applicant, with additional fees for family members. If any family member aged 18 or older has less than functional English, there’s a second installment of AUD 4,890. You might also incur extra costs for health checks, police certificates, and biometrics.
You can apply from inside or outside Australia. If you’re applying from within Australia, you must hold a substantive or related bridging visa, with some exceptions for those with a no-further-stay condition.
You and your family must comply with Australian laws and are expected to work for your nominating employer for at least two years. Depending on where the visa was granted, employment should start within six months of the visa grant or arrival.

Once granted, this visa allows you to stay, work, study in Australia indefinitely and travel to and from the country for up to 5 years.
